Locating iPhone & iPad app crash logs

If an app is freezing or crashing, we may request crash logs from you to diagnose the problem. Crash logs contain information about what the app was doing just when it crashed.

To find a crash log, sync your iPhone, iPod or iPad, then locate the log file for the app in one of the locations below -- based on your computer's operating system.

The log file’s name should start with the app’s name; e.g. "GoodTurn" or "TheUnitedStates."

OS X Crash Logs

    ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<your iPhone’s name>/

Windows XP Crash Logs

    C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\<your iPhone’s name>\

Windows Vista and Windows 7 Crash Logs

    C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<your iPhone’s name>\

Once you’ve located the crash log file, please email it back to us.
